Three Hearts
/In 2008, at a small church in Fort Worth, Texas, Erica and I met Meg, a twenty-something, beautiful mother of two darling small children. Meg’s smile could light up a room. By the time her third baby came along, in 2009, the three of us started a homeschool co-op at Meg’s house and were forging the beginnings of wonderful friendships. Hundreds of hours of teaching, chatting, laughing, and fellowship ensued in that house, on field trips, on play dates, with the dads, and, most often, without them. In 2013 Meg, Erica and I founded Lesson Plan Ladies. We spent countless hours planning and writing lessons together to encourage young mothers (and dads) in homeschooling their children.
Together.
Meg, Erica, and I.
The three of us grew closer to each other as we learned one another’s gifts and weaknesses. Our friendship bonds strengthened, while our three hearts melded into one.
On Friday, November 6, 2020, Meg and her husband, Ben, were tragically killed in a car crash only one block from their home. We are so sad and grieved by this great loss. We have prayed continually for their -now- four precious children, parents, other family members, and friends.
One-third of our heart is missing. And it hurts so badly.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-14
“But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep.”
