LPL Pre-Kindergarten Math Lesson Plans are formulated around Nancy Larson’s Saxon Math K curriculum. The lesson plans provide 40 weeks of grids that have been conveniently broken down into four-day weeks. We have chosen to use Saxon Math for all grades because it is a complete mathematics program that provides children with a wonderful foundation in math. It is a widely used curriculum throughout private, public, and home school arenas. Saxon Math K provides scripted lessons that are easy for both teachers and students to follow. Students will learn math through discussion, hands-on experience using manipulative materials, and ample amounts of practice. Upon completion of Saxon Math K, your student will be able to: count by 1's, 5's, and 10's, act out problems, find answers for addition and subtraction problems using manipulatives, compare and order numbers, identify common shapes, reproduce designs, measure and compare objects, identify halves, and create and read simple graphs.
