3rd Grade Recitation Lesson Plans
3rd Grade Recitation Lesson Plans
During the grammar stage of classical education (pre-kindergarten through fourth grade), children’s minds are sponge-like in nature. They are capable of memorizing vast amounts of information. Recitation is a course designed to encourage memorization and proper presentation of chosen content. Some rewards of memorization and recitation include, but are not limited to: increasing the student’s memory, allowing him to experience eloquent language, and assisting him in learning to confidently speak in front of others.
In third grade recitation your child will memorize carefully chosen portions of A Catechism for Boys and Girls. He will also learn scripture passages, elements in The Periodic Table, the first 12 presidents, poems, the beginning of The Declaration of Independence, states and capitals, and more! In addition, he will review the pledges and catechism questions from previous grades of LPL Recitation Lesson Plans. Helpful YouTube links for some of the recitation pieces are provided so your child can learn difficult information using entertaining and catchy songs.
You will be amazed at what your 3rd Grader is able to commit to memory!
