LPL Third Grade Reading Lesson Plans are an incredible resource!  Included are valuable teaching tips for teachers, important daily vocabulary, enjoyable reading worksheets, and amusing activities related to the books. Your child will read books four days per week with two goals in mind: fluency and comprehension.

Lesson Plan Ladies have selected these quality storybooks for third grade reading: Charlotte’s Web and The Boxcar Children. The Boxcar Children and Charlotte’s Web Comprehension Guides will be used to accompany the books.  These fun, effective guides will boost your student’s ability to think about what he is reading.

Charlotte’s Web is a classic novel of love, friendship, life, and death that has been read and re-read for generations. Because of the love of a little girl named Fern, Wilbur, who is the runt of a litter of pigs, is rescued shortly after birth and taken in as the family pet.  Told from the perspective of a spider, Charlotte, who lives high up in the barn, this story is sure to captivate you and your children from beginning to end.

The Boxcar Children recounts the story of the Alden children who make a home for themselves in a train boxcar.  They encounter many adventures throughout the book while trying to stay together. Through their journeys, they discover their grandfather is alive and well.  Your child is sure to love this adventurous story!

Charlotte's Web Comprehension Guide is intended to help you study and understand Charlotte's Web. This guide is jam packed with puppets, posters, papier Mache projects, recipes, and more!  Children in the grammar stage of learning will enjoy this guide while learning how to answer questions thoroughly, completely, and with proper grammar.

The Boxcar Children Comprehension Guide leads children through The Boxcar Children, book one. It is jam-packed with projects that can be used throughout the Boxcar series.  Origami projects, recipes, painting projects and more fill the pages of this guide.  This unique Veritas Press guide helps your child develop Godly character by pointing out how various types of literature can be used to the glory of God.
