Music appreciation in second grade involves enjoying and familiarizing your child with the masters: Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Vivaldi, and countless others. In addition, your child will learn what the orchestra instruments look and sound like. They will also continue to learn fundamental music skills including, but not limited to, solfege, rhythm, staff, steps, and harmony. These skills will provide your child the musical foundation needed for singing and playing instruments.
